Fanny VERRAX obtained a Professional Master in “Environmental Knowledge Mediation, Partnerships for Sustainable Development » in the area of SETE (« Sciences of the Environment, Territory and the Economy ») at the UVSQ as well as master research LOPHISS (Logique, Philosophie, Histoire et Sociologie des Sciences) at the Université Paris IV-Sorbonne. Her thesis work, begun in October 2009 under the guidance of Jean-Paul Vanderlinden, and directly linked to the European project TECHNOLIFE, exists to identify and clarify ethical and social issues associated with the topic of mineral depletion. In this perspective, she is building a website aiming at collecting the beliefs and values of european citizens about resource scarcity, using a scenario-based approach. She is involved in a co-tutelle with the University in Bergen in Norway, where she lives since september 2010, and works inside the Center for the Study of Sciences and Humanities (Senter for Vitskapsteori), under the supervision of the norwegian Professor Roger Strand.
